Tracey O'Connell, MD (she/her/hers)
Educator: Fostering sustainable well-being & positive self-worth with teens, physicians & LGBTQ+
- Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator
- Certified Expressive Writing™ Facilitator
- Positive Intelligence™ Coach
Tracey O'Connell, MD
Tracey O'Connell, MD is a self-described "recovering physician" who has expanded her career in radiology to being an educator, speaker, and coach, fostering positive self-worth and sustainable well-being with teens, physicians, and LGBTQ+.
Tracey is a certified facilitator of expressive writing and Brené Brown's shame resilience programs. Her change of direction came after many years of feeling "not enough" as a person, a physician, a parent, or partner. She kept herself together by endlessly exploring any and all possible pathways to feeling better. On that journey, she gained wisdom that taught her self-trust and healthy ways to sustain her own self-worth. Essentially, helping people FEEL better helps them feel BETTER. She believes we can all access more joy in life by strengthening the connections we have with ourselves and with others.

Melissa Hankins, MD, CPCD (she/her/hers)
- Certified executive coach
- Harvard-trained psychiatrist
- Trauma-informed Emotional Freedom Techniques (“tapping”) practitioner
AREAS OF SPECIALIZATION:
- Burnout
- Perfectionism
- Boundary Setting and Delegation
- Sustainable Work-Life Integration
- Vicarious Trauma (Secondary Trauma) at Work
Melissa Hankins, MD, CPC
Melissa Hankins, MD, CPC is the CEO and Founder of Melissa Hankins Coaching, a coaching and consulting firm that is committed to helping physicians and others overcome burnout and helping organizations create and maintain psychologically safe work environments and sustainable well-being for their employees. Dr. Hankins is a certified executive coach, Harvard-trained psychiatrist, and trauma-informed Emotional Freedom Techniques (“tapping”) practitioner.
Being a physician and a life-long overachieving high-performer herself (as well as a perfectionist-in-recovery), Dr. Hankins has experienced burnout first-hand. She understands the unique challenges that face high-performers, in the workplace and beyond. Many of the personal qualities that make her clients great in the field of medicine or in other high-performing fields—qualities such as dedication, high attention to detail, independence, persistence, compassion, and empathy—can create a fertile backdrop for burnout to take root. In fact, her clients often struggle with burnout, perfectionism, workaholism, and “trying to do all the things” while feeling overwhelmed in the process, and doing their best not to show it.
Dr. Hankins’ work with physicians and high-performers involves helping them to recognize, re-evaluate, and manage the factors they can control at work (and beyond), and to be proactive about making the changes—both professionally and personally—they need to create a life & work they love.
In addition to leading her own organization, Dr. Hankins also serves as faculty for The Academy of Creative Coaching, an ICF-accredited coach training organization.
She has spoken at several healthcare and coaching organizations and corporations, including Harvard Institute of Coaching, Stanford Medical School, University of California-Davis Health, Weill-Cornell Medical, Microsoft, and the World Business and Executive Coaching Summit (WBECS). She has appeared on numerous podcasts, and her writing has been featured in KevinMD, MedPageToday, Medium.com, and Physician Outlook magazine. She is also a contributing author of the best-selling book, “Thriving After Burnout: A Compilation of Real Stories by Female Physicians.”
Dr. Hankins provides individual and group coaching, as well as interactive training and workshops, and is available for organizational retreats and speaking engagements. You can connect with Dr. Hankins on LinkedIn at www.linkedin.com/in/MelissaHankinsMD , or email at [email protected].
